India at the time of independence was divided into many principalities. Although the most of them acceded to India in different ways, few posed some serious problems. J&K was among those few. But later on it also acceded to India on special conditions. These conditions were provided through Art 370 of constitution of India. Thus article 35a was inserted for J&K’s administration. But in August, 2019 union government stripped these special treatments off.
