Conduction of elections for both central and state government simultaneously is termed as simultaneous elections. India till 1967 followed this pattern, but after 1970 premature dissolution of Loksabha created differences. Later many state assemblies were dissoluted on various accounts like losing of popular support by government, application of President’s rule etc. In present times, elected leaders are constantly being engaged in election cycles. This affects their probity and efficiency. But this concept itself is not a one stop solution for this.
